In a unique and complex joint venture with MiamiDade County, Datran Center houses Metrorail's South Station, the second busiest Metrorail station in the State of Florida. This station is the hub for all passengers headed north to downtown business areas and is the link to the new Busway System.

Over 3,000 people pass through Datran Center on a daily basis, taking the trains that leave and arrive between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. for downtown, Brickell Avenue, Government Center Civic Center and other locations. For special events, the trains run every 30 minutes until 1:00 a.m. During these off hours, and an estimated 10,000 riders pass through Datran Center.

More than 60 jobs are generated due to the trains and its end-of-the-line switching station.

Metrorail has indoor parking for 1,000 cars and an additional 1,500 indoor spaces for Datran Center tenants and their visitors.
